Is there a free web host that will allow cgi scripts?

Im looking for a way to test my CGI scripts. I would like to do so without spending any money.

Essentially, I need a free web host, that also allows CGI scripts(without upgrading to premium) and also a free domain name. A site like freewebs is just fine, except that it didn%26#039;t do the cgi script without the premium option.

Either this, or is there another way to test cgi files possibly locally...?

Generally the answer is no. CGI uses bandwidth, which is bad for the provider of the free hosting.

Had you considered purchasing a host? Many are less than $50 a year.

hi, i%26#039;m not aware of any free hosts that provide cgi, however if you don%26#039;t find one you can go for your own test environment which may give you more understanding of what goes on behind the scenes when you are coding: apache for windows, perl/php and mysql

Other Replys:If you are serious about websites either for personal or your business, don%26#039;t go to free web hosting as they are usually not reliable and you may end up losing all your hard work. Free web hosts usually put advertisements on your websites and it could be annoying.

If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months%26#039; time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.

Other Replys:Free host don%26#039;t allow cgi script or PHP because it cost them some money to provide the security. so they would lose money quickly if they provide those capability with a free hosting plan. server attack is among the big problem with web hosting company. if these company don%26#039;t have the capital and resources to handle the attack they will close down quickly.
