Good web host?
I did a lot of shopping around for a web host and I decided to use godaddy.com and aplus.net
One thing I was sure to ask about is whether I would be charged automatically for exceeding bandwidth, or whether the site would be temporarily shut down for exceeding monthly bandwidth. Both godaddy.com and aplus.net will temporarily shut down the web site, rather than automatically charge you (although both web hosts offer a generous amount of bandwidth, so you shouldn%26#039;t have to worry about this anyway).
Another thing I looked at is how many and what size of databases the plan comes with. aplus.net%26#039;s $9.99 unix plan only gives you 3 mysql databases; the good part is that there isn%26#039;t really a size limit on the databases. godaddy.com lets you have 25 mysql databases with their $6.99 plan (their MySQL database quota is subtracted from the 100GB disk space allocated to your hosting account). Other sites may have a storage limit on their databases.
There are a variety of other factors to consider such as storage space, number of FTP accounts, what server-side processing languages are supported (and what version), what version of PHP and MySQL they support, free software tools for building your website, number of [free] domains hosted, number of subdomains, etc.
I%26#039;ve never used Dreamhost, but it also seems like a good option. It seems to have the same features as the two previously mentioned hosts. The only thing that turns me off is the fact that they charge $1/GB of exceeded bandwidth, and I wouldn%26#039;t want the possibility of unplanned charges (though you probably will not have to worry about exceeding their 1 TB limit). They may have an option to temporarily shut down the web site for the month like the other two hosts I%26#039;ve mentioned.
If I had to choose one, I would go with http://www.godaddy.com --100 GB storage, 1 TB transfer, $6.99/mo (or $5.59/mo if you purchase 2 yrs). If you don%26#039;t need a lot of space, they have 5 GB plans as low as $3.19/mo.
Good web host?
Shop around, and read ALL THE FINE PRINT.
Other Replys:For reasonable pricing and 99% uptime try

Other Replys:Finding a good host is tough - there%26#039;s a lot of competition out there. I went with Dreamhost ( http://www.dreamhost.com ) and I%26#039;ve been happy with them. You can host as many domains on one account as you want for no extra charge, 20GB space, 1TB bandwidth, and all domain name registrations include private registration (which I recommend so your personal info is kept out of WHOIS) for less than $10/name. I used a discount code that knocks $50 off any monthly or annual plan when you sign up: DISCO50. So for a 1-year plans that%26#039;s less than $6/month. Good luck!
Other Replys:You can try http://www.dreamhost.com ( http://dreamhost.com/shared/comparison.h... ) hosting solution (if you%26#039;re also looking hosting with a free domain in the packages) , a respectable company and has a good support, uptime with over 700 servers. They give you 20GB Space and 1 Terrabyte of Bandwidth, and a free domain for a good price ($119/year), and with the promo code HOT75 you get $75 off to any yearly and monthly plans you purchase. They have everything you need.
Which means, with that promo code, you get $119 - $75 = $44/year
and $44 / 12 months is only $3.67 a month for that great deal!
Other Replys:Well As a web designer, I am always looking for the best hosting, but want to also cut my expensice. I%26#039;d say this one is one of the ones I use the most.. It only cost about the same as one or two cups of coffee a month. It helps when I need to cut corners but not service.
