Is it possible to trace the web host?

My friend%26#039;s website designer is nowhere to be found since June last year. He%26#039;s the same guy who referred them to a wieb host. Unfortunately this guy wasn%26#039;t able to turn over the name of the web host name and contact details, and the username and password.

The website is www.brighthomesph.com.

My friend told me that they wanted to edit the website since last year.

How can they trace the web host?

go to register.com then do a %26quot;whois%26quot; lookup on the domain name %26lt;www.brighthomesph.com%26gt; in the results it should show 2 name server addresses (for example ns1.mydomain.com ns2.mydomain.com) and you should be able to figure out who the web hosting provider is. If your friend paid for the site with a credit card he should have it on file with the company. If the designer paid for it you could be SOL b/c it%26#039;ll look like he%26#039;s the owner of the site. good luck.

Ever hear of %26quot;whois%26quot; searches... Dee Daa Dee!

BTW you will never gain access with out the username and pass. I know I own several websites.

Other Replys:I got a lot of info, but probably will not be posting the details. I%26#039;ll let you look up the details yourself from the website Whois.net

Go to http://www.whois.net and

type in: brighthomesph

under %26quot;whois lookup%26quot;

If you look at the whole long page report you should be able to find the contact info of the administrator or registrant.

Other Replys:Who is won%26#039;t give you the web host. That will just give you the details the you gave when you registered the domain. I typed it in and the admin contact is WebFocus Solutions, Inc. I%26#039;m guessing that is the web designer that you can%26#039;t geet in touch with. Try E-mailing him at admin@webfocus.ph.

If that doesn%26#039;t work follow the money. I%26#039;m guessing you pay for web hosting every month. Check the credit card statement for who is billing it.
