1. evaluate your needs
2. evaluate future needs (this helps down the road TRUST ME)
3. search for one that meets YOUR needs and is reputable. See what others have to say and try calling their help line to see how fast you get to speak with someone!
How can I really find a good web host?, these host evaluator sites strike me as bought and paid for.?
All of them offer different hosting packages and the tools to build the site. It is up to you what your requirements are for the site.
My best suggestion is to go with a price for the domain and hosting package that is within your budget. You can always upgrade to more storage, features, etc once you have the site in place.

Try bluehost.com. I have 5 domains hosted there and have been extremely pleased with them. They have competent and friendly help staff (it turned out to be my mistake every time I called). But even if you don%26#039;t use them, make sure you get someone that has phone support and CALL them before you purchase any plans. If they have a live chat, test it. My last host would take up to 48 hours to solve the easiest problems. There was no phone support and the live chat never was manned.
Other Replys:Godaddy%26#039;s dedicated plans start from $89.00/month. You can build your dedicated server, with lots of options for hard disk, RAM, processor, control panel, os, backup, firewall etc.
For something around 100$-150$, you can get a good dedicated server based on your needs. Considering godaddy professionalism and support, that is a real deal!
